About the Journal
Ife Journal of Social and Civic Studies (IJSCS) provides a medium for academics, scholars, teachers, policy makers and service providers (among others), to disseminate research reports and exchange experiences, that could provide further insights into solving human problems, improving the content and methods of teaching Social Studies across all levels of education; and widening intellectual horizons in social problems research, especially as it affects the human existence.
Ife Journal of Social and Civic Studies (IJSCS) is published on a continuous basis (online first and annually in hardcopies) by the Institute of Education, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. The journal welcomes well-articulated papers/articles related to human problems and their solutions following the use of a variety of appropriate methodologies and methods in the conduct of research and inquiry (theoretical, empirical and experimental studies). The editors invite submission of manuscripts from contributors for publication. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed anonymously, and those that are accepted are published in an issue of the journal on a monthly basis and first hoisted online on IJSCS Website immediately they are accepted for publication. A volume of the hardcopy of the Journal will be published in August of each year. A minimum of ten articles will constitute a number per volume.
Author Guidelines
Authors are to submit an electronic Microsoft-word copy by email attachment to designated email address: ijoscs@gmail.com.
Manuscripts should contain two title pages, one omitting author’s names and identifying information for the purpose of blind peer-review. Author(s) are to spell out their First Names in full with Surname in CAPITAL letters. Institutional/organizational and e-mail addresses and phone numbers are to be clearly written on the first title page. Authors should give brief information about themselves (such as names, qualifications and job status and work experiences). Manuscripts are to be prepared using any standard manual of publication that the author can conveniently and adequately engage with. All components of the manuscript must be typed using Times New Roman 12 font size and double line space margin on an A4 paper size. The abstract should be between 100-200 words and typed on a separate page. A maximum five keywords should be written under the abstract. A manuscript should not exceed 3,500 words or 12 pages (double line spacing) in length. Only original manuscripts, written in English language are considered for review. A covering letter should be attached by the author. The letter should state that the manuscript is not being simultaneously submitted elsewhere and that the findings reported in the manuscript have not been published previously. An Assessment fee of Five Thousand Naira (5,000 NGN /$20.00) is charged for the review of an article. Articles accepted become the copyright of Ife Journal of Social and Civic Studies (IJSCS). Authors will however take the responsibilities for violating the copyright of others. Production costs will be shared with authors on acceptance of manuscripts for publication.
Availability and Subscriptions
Ife Journal of Social and Civic Studies (IJSCS) is an open-access Journal with hardcopy, and softcopy made available for free download. Hard copies can be subscribed within Nigeria and abroad, after paying respective fees per copy irrespective of the numbers in a volume per annum as follows:

Postage
The subscriber will bear the cost of postage, to be arranged with the Managing Editor.
