Information For Authors

Authors are advised to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:

  • Manuscripts (in English) should be prepared with MS-word format on an A4 papers size, using, Times New Romanpoint font 12, double line spacing, 1-inch (2.54 cm) margin on each side and block paragraphing style.

  • Manuscripts should be prepared according to the publication manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition.

  • The first page of the article should contain the title of the article, author(s) information such as name of author(s), address/institution of affiliation, email address and functioning telephone number. The page should also contain abstract of not more than 250 words, single line spacing, and maximum of five keywords.

  • The whole papers should not exceed 3,500 words, that is 12 pages including abstract and references.

  • Evidence of plagiarism test of not more than 15% threshold should be attached with the paper at the point of submission.

  • Empirical papers should be presented using the following headings: Introduction, Research Questions or Hypotheses (or both), Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations and References.

  • Tables: Tables should be minimal and be numbered in Hindu-Arabic numerals e.g. (Table 1, Table 2 etc.) and should not flow over to the next page. The table number and the heading should appear on the top of the tables in bold form. The table content should follow the 7th Edition of APA format.

  • Results: State your research questions or hypotheses before presenting your results in tables and figures with appropriate headings.

  • Reference Style: All in-text citations and references should adhere strictly to the 7th Edition of APA referencing style. Visit. www.apastyle.org.

  • Position papers should be presented under appropriate and relevant subheadings but with no numbering of headings/sub-headings.

  • Manuscripts and proof for payment of assessment fee of Five Thousand Naira (₦5,000) only should be sent to the Managing Editor through this email address: ijsoscs@gmail.com. Kindly send evidence of payment to the Managing Editor on WhatsApp (08030699630) for documentation.

  • Any article that does not comply with the above stipulated guidelines would be returned to the author(s).

  • Publication fee is Forty Thousand Naira (₦40,000) only per article.
